B-Block-BOOK TALK—Re-hash Notes

The Panic was last week, ended with Miss Pole paying extra for Miss Matty to be carried home an easier way

Pre-hash Notes

  • sanded parlour
  • mountebank
  • “Jack’s up, a fig for his heels, pref”
  • Duke of wellington much loved post napoleonic wars
  • Lord Chesterfield’s letters - in 1774 Lord Chesterfields letters were published posthumously by Philip Dormer Stanhope- the fourth Earl of Chesterfield (1694-1773) they were mostly instructions on etiquette for his son they were very popular for a while but as tastes changed they fell out of favor and Dr. Johnson described them as teaching “the morals of a whore and the manners of a dancing master” Cranford was behind the times - even for Dr Johnson!
  • Bread-jelly
  • Buckle in for some lovely comedy about previous chapters’ behaviors from all the ladies, and some really beautiful Miss Matty moments.
  • charges - sermons

C-Block Book Audio / D-Block-Post-chapter Notes

wasn’t that good

  • Signora Brunoni - HA!

  • <3 how they insist on the doctor coming in (even if he does use slang)

  • “for even if I didn’t meet with anyone who wish to marry me now, and as Miss Pole says “one is never too safe”, I would not take him, I hope he would not take it too much to heart, but I could not take him, or anyone but the person I was that I should be married to, and he is dead and gone, and he never knew how it all came about that I said no,”

  • the Signora preferred to be called Mrs Brown :D

  • Also Thomas just clumps up his hand like a fist…which makes me think of Miss Pole.

  • And PETER!?!?!?!?

  • YouTube Cards?

Here are the patterns for the raffle/give away. I also have a free Book Tracker quilt pattern that people might be interested in. It’s also an FPP pattern and can be found here: https://www.snugglepuzzle.com/book-tracker-quilt/ It would be a great first pattern for people who haven’t tried FPP before. Thanks again for all you do!
